Maelove ( https://maelove.com/ and @maeloveskincare) is a Silicon Valley skincare line startup. It's started by a group of friends from MIT comprised of engineers, chemists, medical researchers, and doctors. We believe in formulating skin care essentials that are of high-quality, good for you ingredients, without any of the fuss. We want to help women simplify their skincare routine by creating products that will not only feel good on the skin, but will actually deliver benefits that will have lasting results. We approach skincare from a medical perspective, and it's crystal clear that daily sunscreen wear is the cornerstone to any legitimate skincare regimen. That is why our first item skincare item we are showcasing is the sunscreen.
It took us over 3 years and so many formulations to make this every woman's daily sunscreen that they will actually want to wear, and not just store away on their vanity shelf.
About 70% of women don't use sunscreen daily because they either hate the sticky feel of mineral sunscreens or the petroleum derived active ingredients of chemical sunscreens. But, what most women don't know is that daily sun protection is the #1 wrinkle fighter - it does more to fight wrinkles than any other skincare products combined!
To solve this problem, we formulated a mineral (18% zinc oxide) sunscreen, and we aimed for a pure zinc solution since it's better against wrinkle-causing UVA than titanium oxide. We didn't want our effectiveness watered down by titanium oxide. The Sun Protector is great for even the most sensitive skin, yet it is just as light as the lightest chemical sunscreen (no white residue or greasiness). It also doubles as a smoothing makeup primer, so there is no pilling or flaking.
It is formulated without parabens, phthalates, synthetic dyes or fragrances, it is hypo-allergenic, and won't clog your pores. It is PETA-certified cruelty-free and vegan.
